Bluetooth Speaker

The assignment was to design a bluetooth speaker for a brand of our choice. The procedure included phases for research, Photoshop renderings, CAD models and a model making phase.

Speaker reserach

During the investigation, I began by analyzing the brand teenage engineering and positioning it in accordance with the brand in Hans-Georg Häusel’s Limbic Map. Then, I did the same with their goods to determine the direction the speaker’s design needed to take.

In my eyes, teenage engineering is a brand which fits the following characteristics: functional, precise, disciplined, askese, order, logic, fun, art, creativity, individualism, extravagance, variety, curiosity.

The function

Because of my company, teenage engineering and its distinctive products, I decided to first identify a function that goes beyond a straightforward speaker before designing it. After trying many methods, I made the decision to create a modular loudspeaker. This can be connected from a single module to a full soundbar. The speaker also suggests that customers employ 3D printed components in their own original ways.

Photoshop renderings –  Quick and easy

The objective of this task was to generate a visual outcome in the shortest possible time. To tackle this challenge efficiently, I decided to create a rendering in Photoshop, using a two-dimensional CAD model as the basis for the visualization. This approach allowed me to quickly produce a preliminary design concept that effectively communicated the intended visual characteristics and overall aesthetic of the project. By leveraging the CAD data, I was able to ensure that the rendering remained consistent with the technical requirements while also providing a compelling and realistic representation of the final product.
